"This center signifies the level of commitment that Agilysys is investing in the success of our customers' IT solutions," said Ron Bereszniewicz, senior vice president of sales, Agilysys. "It encourages our customers to try before they buy so they're absolutely comfortable with the IT solutions we're recommending to help solve their IT business challenges." Demonstration, evaluation, and proof of concept testing are available in four key solution areas, including: Virtualization/Consolidation Customers can see first-hand how virtualization positively impacts business with better return on IT investment, improved scalability and performance, a smaller footprint, and potential ease of management. The center showcases HP ProLiants and Bladesystems running VMware to demonstrate business solutions, and HP Integrity systems running Virtual Server Environment to demonstrate mission critical solutions. "Visitors can test drive leading server virtualization solutions powered by AMD Opteron(TM) processors and experience first-hand performance-per-watt and server efficiency benefits, which pave the way to reduced total cost of ownership in their computing infrastructures," said Kevin Knox, vice president, Commercial Business, AMD. "Running legacy operating systems and applications alongside new operating systems and hardware is a common requirement in today's datacenters and is now possible through virtualization technologies demonstrated in the HP Customer Solutions Center." Storage Solutions Agilysys helps customers manage, protect, maintain, and migrate their company's most important IT asset -- information. Agilysys is experienced in complex, highly available HP storage solutions with mission critical customers. The center serves as a gathering place for customers to not only better understand Agilysys competencies in SAN, NAS, business continuance, backup, recovery and archiving technologies, but also fully comprehend how these technologies can work for them. Software elements available for demonstration within this controlled environment include HP Data Protector, OpenView Storage Mirroring, Multi-path software, Business Copy, Command View, and Continuous Access EVA. HP Storage Essentials, a suite of software modules delivering integrated heterogeneous functionality, is installed as well and is a key element of the storage solution stack. IT Management Customers can also see HP OpenView installed within the center along with a select portfolio of software products which fall under the HP OpenView moniker, including: Network Node Manager, Operations (OVO) for UNIX or Windows, HP System Insight Manager and HP Storage Essentials. Platform Transition/Migration Agilysys has the intellectual capital to show customers where they are today in terms of their infrastructure and where they can be in the future. To assist in the decision making process, customers can compare legacy platforms to strategic operating systems running on HP Integrity servers. Customers can also access the center's resources to port and test code. "This center allows us to go above and beyond the presentations and Visio diagrams to give current customers and prospects hands-on opportunities to evaluate virtualization, storage, IT management and migration solutions," said Steve Lankard, director of solutions architecture, Agilysys. "It also serves as a comprehensive proof of concept facility and an ever-evolving training environment for our customers, solution architects and services teams." "We have been a long-time Agilysys customer and have been operating a highly heterogenous, mission critical environment, so it is essential that we do not experience any downtime," said Jon Morgan, vice president at JRI America, the technology arm of Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC). "We are looking forward to utilizing this center to test a variety of hardware, software and services to determine the best solutions for our customers." About Agilysys, Inc.
