ANPI Selects SecurityCoverage to Offer Internet Users Innovative Protection8 January 2006
NewStreets, Inc., the Internet Division of

provide fully managed Internet security services for member companies to
offer to their customers. "ANPI members are seeing huge volumes of calls
to their support centers that have nothing to do with Internet
connectivity," said Jamie Blakley, NewStreets' Manager. Blakley went on to
say, "Many of these calls are from consumer and enterprise customers who
have contracted computer viruses and spyware, and are looking to their

The statistics are alarming. According to Consumer Reports' 2005 State of
the Net survey of online customers, home Internet users have a 1 in 2
chance of experiencing Internet-delivered spyware and viruses. The same
report goes on to point out the irony of the situation given that Americans
spent $2.6 billion on computer protection software over the last two years.
During that same time period, $9 billion was spent on computer repairs in
order to fix problems caused by viruses and spyware.
With all that money spent on protection, why does the problem continue to
