BIOTRONIK Deploys Good(TM) Mobile Messaging for IBM Lotus(R) Domino(R)

Good Technology, Inc., the trusted standard for enterprise mobile computing software and service, and Cingular Wireless today announced BIOTRONIK, a leading worldwide medical device manufacturer and Cingular Wireless customer, has deployed Good Mobile Messaging(TM) for IBM Lotus(R) Domino(R) after a successful three-month beta program. The initial rollout will include Good Mobile Messaging running on Windows Mobile handhelds including the Cingular 2125 Smartphone, Cingular 8125 Pocket PC, as well as Cingular-enabled Palm(R) OS-based Treo(TM) smartphones.

Good Mobile Messaging for IBM Lotus Domino offers millions of Lotus Notes users true enterprise-class mobile collaboration and computing capability, with secure wireless access across a spectrum of wireless devices. Cingular customers will access Good Mobile Messaging via Cingular's high-speed EDGE wireless data network, which is available nationwide* in 13,000 cities and towns and along some 40,000 miles of major highways.

"During testing, I was impressed with the real-time delivery of messages and calendar updates, the ease of deployment and management, and the enterprise-class security. In addition, I received very positive feedback from users who were thrilled with the intuitive, rich user interface and the number of devices from which to choose."

This means executives and the sales force are often out of the office for days and weeks at a time. The combination of Good Mobile Messaging and Cingular gives BIOTRONIK employees an added advantage because they can access key information whether they are in the U.S. or abroad in more than 100 countries worldwide. "For our users, calendaring is just as important as e-mail," said Tomlin. "Having real- time updates to their schedules wherever they might be on the road is a huge plus because they are much more efficient and productive."

From an IT perspective, the benefits that stood out to Tomlin were ease of deployment and the enterprise-class security. "I was pleasantly surprised by how easy Good Mobile Messaging was to install even for a beta product," said Tomlin. "And once the server was up and running, the devices were easy to deploy using Good's Secure Over-The-Air(TM) functionality. In terms of security, being able to remotely 'wipe' a device was also extremely important because it prevents sensitive information from falling into the wrong hands."

Finally, BIOTRONIK believes that Good Mobile Messaging improves the quality of life of its employees. "Knowing they have reliable, real-time access to their schedules, messages, and attachments makes it much easier to manage their workloads and balance work with the other aspects of their lives," said Tomlin.

Based on the positive results of the beta testing program, BIOTRONIK plans to rollout Good Mobile Messaging from Cingular to all of its executives and sales force.
