C-COR Introduces n5 Video Server17 June 2005
C-COR Incorporated (Nasdaq:CCBL), a global provider of interoperable network solutions that simplify the transition to on demand networks, today announced the introduction of the n5 Video Server. C-COR's n5 sets the standard in flexibility and the ability to independently scale RAM video buffering and disk storage, thereby maximizing performance while minimizing costs. The n5 supports an array of system configurations in disk storage, RAM buffering, and streaming bandwidth with each optimized independently to meet varied requirements for delivering on demand content in multiple deployment scenarios. The n5 provides unprecedented ability for the operator to scale and tune the system to fit the entire range of deployment needs--from RAM-intensive 'edge server' to large-content centralized library server.
Taking advantage of the n5's enhanced capabilities, C-COR has extended its proven and reliable nABLE management suite, deployed for video-on-demand, digital program insertion, and Network PVR with both MPEG-2 and H.264 advanced compression. C-COR's nABLE also supports deployment of the n5 side-by-side with existing C-COR video servers, allowing simple add-on system expansion.
"We're proud of what we have accomplished with the n5 server as it continues the scalability, stability, predictability, and interoperability that our customers have come to expect from C-COR," stated Michael Pohl, President of C-COR Solutions. "By providing cost-effective, simple system growth through disk, RAM, and streaming bandwidth, the n5 meets the business needs of network operators today and into the future."
C-COR will have its first public showing of the n5 Video Server at the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo (Booth #8094) in San Antonio, Texas, on June 14-17, 2005.
The n5 Video Server is a product of C-COR Solutions, one of C-COR's three complementary business units that also include C-COR Access and Transport and C-COR Network Services.
