Comarco Announces $4.1 Million in New Call Box Contracts15 December 2005
Comarco, Inc. (Nasdaq: CMRO), a leading provider of wireless test solutions, wireless emergency call box systems, and ChargeSource(R) mobile power products for notebook computers, cellular telephones, PDAs, digital cameras, and other handheld devices, today announced that it has won a new call box contract for several counties in the Bay Area of northern California.
The new contract, valued at more than $4.1 million, is with the Metropolitan Transportation Commission Services Authority for Freeways and Expressways "MTC SAFE," which provides motorist aid call box service in nine counties comprising the San Francisco Bay Area. Under the terms of the contract, Comarco will upgrade the counties' wireless analog systems to digital wireless technology and provide other services. This contract was won through competitive bidding and is expected to be completed by the end of Comarco's fiscal 2007, which ends on January 31, 2007. Comarco will upgrade approximately 1,900 call boxes to digital wireless and add TTY devices to the same number of boxes.
This brings the total of contracts awarded to Comarco's call box group to nearly $14.2 million in the past 12 months.
