CounterPath Announces Softphone Integration to Drive Further VoIP Adoption and Enhance Customer Experience

Collaborative effort integrating CounterPath(TM) Solutions' eyeBeam(TM) Video SIP Softphone with the Intel(R) 600SM PCI Phone Adapter ensures that users will have the ability to use a cordless handset with a VOIP service

COMPUTEX, TAIPEI, June 6 - CounterPath(TM) Solutions, Inc. (OTCBB CTPS), a leading developer of award-winning, high-quality, carrier-grade VoIP (Voice over IP) and Video over IP SIP softphones today announced its effort to further enhance the customer experience for VoIP communications through integrating its software with the Intel(R) 600SM PCI Phone Adapter. Specifically, users of CounterPath's eyeBeam(TM) SIP-based softphone, in conjunction with any PC utilizing the Intel(R) 600SM PCI Phone Adapter, will be able to make calls utilizing standard phones, corded or cordless.

CounterPath has worked with Intel on optimizing and integrating CounterPath's softphone and Intel's product, including support of wideband audio codecs for improved voice quality. The 600SM product contains an RJ11 port enabling the user to plug their traditional corded or cordless phones directly into their PC to place VoIP calls seamlessly through CounterPath's softphone.
