Data I/0 Corporation Announces Expanded Strategic Alliance with Intel8 April 2005
Data I/O® (Nasdaq: DAIO - News), the leading provider of manual and automated programming systems announced expansion of its strategic alliance with Intel Corporation. Wireless handset manufacturing companies are Data I/O's largest customer group and consume significant volumes of high-density flash memory devices. Many of those customers are multi-national in structure and require speedy and concurrent support in many different geographies. Intel offers support in these geographies with its flash memory Programmer Evaluation Labs (PEL). In addition to the PEL located at the Intel site in Folsom, California, the new PEL at Intel's Cavite, Philippines location represents expanded local support for mutual customers in the Asia Pacific region. As in the California PEL, the PEL equipment in Cavite includes a Data I/O FlashPAK programming system to facilitate that much-needed local support.
"Intel® Flash Memory devices are used by virtually all of our major customer companies, and close cooperation with Intel strengthens our programming solutions," noted Bruce Rodgers, Vice President of Sales and Marketing in Asia/Americas. "Data I/O fully supports Intel's new PEL in Cavite. This effort significantly strengthens our partnership because it hastens our ability to respond to local customer queries about device programming operations."
"Intel and Data I/O work closely to provide Intel Flash Memory programming solutions to our mutual customers," said Peter Larsen, Intel Programmer Evaluation Lab manager. "Our efforts include rapid algorithm development for Intel Flash Memory components, optimized manufacturing programming performance on Data I/O platforms, and quickly addressing the needs of our customers. This alliance between Intel and Data I/O ensures our customers receive quality programming solutions when they need it."
