Dual-Core AMD Opteron Processor Powers Acer Altos Server2 July 2005
(NYSE:AMD) today announced the introduction of the Acer Altos G5350, the first Dual-Core AMD Opteron(TM) processor-based pedestal server from an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) in Europe. This server is expected to bring superior performance to small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) looking for a solution capable of running separate or consolidated server workloads.

Designed from the ground up for multi-core computing, Dual-Core AMD Opteron processors deliver additional performance within the same power envelope as single-core processors, enhancing the performance-per-watt leadership of AMD64 processor-based platforms.

The new Acer Altos G5350 will be available in single- and dual-core configurations starting in July 2005 in Europe.
