ePlus Announces New Headquarters Location27 December 2004
ePlus inc. is consolidating its two Herndon, Virginia offices and has moved its headquarters to the new location effective as of December 27, 2004. The newly renovated Herndon facility will utilize ePlus' Network of the Future and serve as its national headquarters, accommodating about 230 personnel in approximately 50,000 square feet of leased space. The space will include a technology and demo center, warehouse, and expanded training and conference facilities.
The integrated IT network and telecommunication system in the new headquarters was designed and implemented by ePlus engineers, and will feature ePlus' patent-pending "serverless office" platform. Called the ePlus Network of the Future, it is a fully integrated voice, data, and fax solution which provides access to dozens of applications via the internet without local servers. Personnel use HP Thin Client hardware to access software applications - including ePlus' proprietary software such as Procure+, Manage+, and Content+, as well as commercial off-the-shelf products - located at a remote data center, which is powered by HP's Blades and Server hardware utilizing an HP Storage Area Network (SAN). The HP Thin Client technology and Citrix Software provides unparalleled reliability and energy efficiency, at a significantly reduced infrastructure cost. In addition, centralized control of third-party software applications enhances license compliance and reduces licensing costs. More information about the ePlus Network of the Future is available at www.eplus.com/NOF and ePlus' SAN solution is at www.eplus.com/Storage.
The voice, data, fax, and security advanced network infrastructure is powered by Cisco's latest technology and APC's InfraStruXure(TM) clean power to provide a seamless, redundant connection with the remote data center. The HQ building uses an in-house designed Cisco IP Telephony (IPT) Solution for enhanced call support and reduced telecommunication costs, and is part of a corporate-wide roll-out of IPT.
