VITA is a proactive, management device which combines total system analysis tools with automatic, programmable responses, providing a breakthrough approach for intelligent and complete LAN management. VITA is also a dynamic WAN appliance that allows service corporations to easily provide their clients with end-user level administration.

VITA is a stand-alone server providing a complete solution for automated PC management. Implemented as a custom embedded system running a mission-critical, real-time operating system, (VxWorks by WindRiver), and including a modem, a additional swapable HD and a built in tape drive, VITA is an integrated, centralized and stable environment. VITA allows the system administrator to completely manage and control every system which is connected to the network remotely, through a VPN, or even a standard phone line.

VITA integrates, schedules, and automates the following main subsystems:
Application Management
VITA's Application Management subsystem provides functions for fool-proof installation, un-installation, and re-installation of application software, More subsystems provide functions for patch and upgrades. All of which prevent problems associated with these procedures and optimize the number of software licenses a company needs to purchase.

Maintenance
VITA's OS Maintenance subsystem performs, disk and file system scanning, disk defragmentation, PC auditing and inventorying. VITA includes the functionality that network managers find essential today including complete automated management of computer hardware and software, desktop and system settings, systems disks, files and folders, event logs, internet configuration, OS configuration, network, processes and system services.

Storage Support
VITA's Storage Support subsystem features support backup and archiving functions for mass storage devices on end-user and server PCs. These include full or incremental support backup on the built-in tape drive and support for dialing-in (remote) laptops including data compression for improved backup performance.
