Fujitsu Selects Emulex 4Gb/s HBAs to Offer Robust SAN Connectivity for Flexible Mission-Critical IA Server Technology12 July 2006
Emulex Corporation (NYSE:ELX), the most trusted name in storage networking connectivity, today announced that Fujitsu Limited has selected the Emulex LightPulse(r) 4Gb/s PCI Express and PCI-X host bus adapters (HBAs) for use with the PRIMEQUEST 420, PRIMEQUEST 440 and PRIMEQUEST 480 enterprise servers.
The Fujitsu PRIMEQUEST high-end Itanium 2 servers are best suited for enterprises running mission-critical applications. They are also designed with the flexibility to handle mixed I/O environments and support Emulex 4Gb/s HBAs in both Linux and Windows operating environments. The Emulex 4Gb/s PCI Express and PCI-X dual channel HBAs function over 50 percent faster than competing HBAs in mixed I/O transactions, which is critical for large-scale enterprise applications. Typical applications for the Fujitsu PRIMEQUEST server series include large-scale database systems and online transaction processing environments.
