GraniteEdge Networks, delivering a new level
of intelligence to network security, today announced the appointment of
Steve O'Brian as vice president of marketing and Tim Scudder as director of
engineering. O'Brian is responsible for spearheading the entire marketing
function including strategic go-to-market initiatives and product
management. Scudder is responsible for helping drive the delivery of
cutting edge technology that will propel the company forward into new
markets. Both O'Brian and Scudder will report to Anthony Naughtin,
GraniteEdge Networks' chief executive officer.

O'Brian brings over 12 years of marketing experience with networking
technologies. Prior to GraniteEdge, he was vice president of marketing for
startup Troika Networks where he was responsible for all facets of the
marketing strategy. Troika's strong early market success resulted in Qlogic
acquiring the company. O'Brian has also held senior product management and
marketing positions at 3Com and McDATA Corp. He holds a Master of Business
Administration degree from Westminster College and a Bachelor of Science
degree from the University of Utah.
Scudder has over 13 years experience as a senior manager, building and
leading development and operations teams for early-stage startups and large
enterprise organizations. He has led a number of new companies through the
challenges of designing and delivering initial products. Most recently, as
director of software development and product delivery at Mendocino
Software, Scudder led the development organization from the initial
planning phase through shipment of their first product. Mr. Scudder has
also held senior engineering management positions at IBM Rational.
