Shenzhen Domain Network, Advanced Micro Devices (NYSE: AMD), and Huawei Technologies today announced the formation of a strategic collaboration to empower online gaming in China. The three companies will work together to support an online gaming network, brand communications, marketing and promotions.

As part of the cooperation, Shenzhen Domain Network, one of the leading online game carriers in China, will adopt the Telecommunications Standard Service Platform (TSSP) from Huawei Technologies based on AMD's award-winning 64-bit Dual-Core AMD Opteron(TM) processors to provide an online game operating platform. The powerful system will provide a leading-edge operating environment with high performance, reliability, scalability, and energy efficiency for Shenzhen Domain's premium online games including the upcoming Huaxia2. The new Dual-Core AMD Opteron processor-based platform is designed to help Shenzhen Domain Network deliver improved customer satisfaction for its online game users, while putting it in an excellent position for future development.

Shenzhen Domain Network, AMD and Huawei Technologies are industry leaders for online gaming, microprocessor technology, and telecom, respectively. The strategic relationship signifies a pioneering model where players from the different parts of the value chain work together to boost China's online game industry.

"We are very pleased to forge this strategic collaboration with AMD and Huawei Technologies, two leaders in their respective industries," said Mr. Zhang Yan, CEO of Shenzhen Domain Network. "The AMD processor-based Huawei solution is planned to provide cutting-edge servers and networks, end-to-end operating solutions to get our gaming products, including the Huaxia2, more powerfully equipped. We will work together to make more exciting gaming experiences available for tens of thousands of our customers in China. This is one more milestone in Shenzen Domain Network's efforts to work with industry partners to contribute to the growth of the online game industry."

Ms. Karen Guo, AMD Corporate Vice President and President of AMD Greater China, said, "The strategic relationship with Huawei and Shenzhen Domain Network further demonstrates AMD's customer-centric approach. This is just one of many breakthroughs for AMD in the online gaming market. We will continue to work with our industry partners to leverage our innovative and industry-leading technologies to facilitate the development of the gaming industry in the long run.

"AMD is very pleased to cooperate with Huawei, an extraordinary and internationalized Chinese enterprise, to tap the commercial market. Our relationship should be a dynamic boost to our performance in the high-tier commercial segment, as well as our joint effort to contribute to China's gaming industry," added Ms. Guo.

Thanks to leadership in multi-core and 64-bit computing technologies, AMD has achieved growth in the global commercial market. Today, AMD64 technology has been adopted by more than 90% of the Forbes Top 100 Companies based on the Forbes Global 2000. According to Mercury Research, AMD has acquired 22.1 percent market share in the worldwide X86 server market.

"Providing end-to-end solutions to Shenzhen Domain Network, China's leading online game carrier, is a new step for Huawei to leverage its traditional strength and expertise in the telecom industry to support Internet service operators to improve their customer experience. This strategic collaboration is an effective model for us to explore new business opportunities and provide long-term value to our customers," said Mr. Ai Wei, Senior Vice President of Huawei Technologies.

"Huawei expects to strengthen cooperation with both upstream and downstream players of the industry chain. The AMD Opteron processor boasts of unique and innovative structures, powerful computing capability, low power consumption, a clear product roadmap, as well as product consistency. These features are important for Huawei to offer high-speed, high-efficiency, and power-saving solutions to satisfy the demands of our customers," added Mr. Ai.
