IBM Adds New Brocade Platforms to Storage Network Portfolio11 May 2006
Brocade Communications Systems, Inc. (Brocade(R)) (Nasdaq: BRCD) today announced that IBM(R) is adding three new Brocade storage network connectivity platforms to the IBM System Storage(TM) product portfolio, further extending Brocade's leadership as the industry's only end-to-end provider of 4 Gbit/sec Storage Area Network (SAN) technology. IBM System Storage customers will be among the first to access a full range of next-generation, high-performance SAN solutions based on Brocade technology. The three new breakthrough products to be offered by IBM are the IBM System Storage SAN64B-2 switch (2005-B64) based on the Brocade SilkWorm(R) 4900, the IBM System Storage SAN18B-R router (2005-R18) based on the SilkWorm 7500, and the M48 FC Routing Blade for the IBM System Storage SAN256B director (2109-M48) based on the SilkWorm FR4-18i Blade for the SilkWorm 48000 Director. These new offerings expand the IBM System Storage B-type family of 4 Gbit/sec products manufactured by Brocade to cover the industry's widest range of embedded-to-enterprise-SAN connectivity.
