In The Third Quarter Of 2004 Taiwanese Large Size LCD Panel Makers Saw Declines

In the third quarter of 2004, due to undigested panel inventories from the second quarter and unimproved market demand in the third quarter, Taiwanese large size LCD panel makers saw declines in both volume and value. Shipment volume fell by 5.4% sequentially, while shipment value slipped to around US$2.8 billion. In the fourth quarter of 2004, plummeting panel prices are expected to bring down prices in the consumer market. This and seasonal effects are expected to stimulate consumer demand. Panel oversupply will consequently see relief and the drop panel prices will thus slow down in the fourth quarter.
