announced the release of new versions of its award-winning PC utility software
-- System Mechanic(R) version 6 and System Mechanic version 6 Professional.
The System Mechanic tool arsenal cleans, optimizes, fixes, protects, and
maintains PCs to run faster, safer and error-free. The software shipped to
retail stores nationwide October 3, 2005.

clean, repair, and secure the PC, or run the PC TotalCare to accomplish it
all: PC Cleanup, PC Accelerator, PC Security Optimizer, and PC Repair.
The powerful wizards now have quick and basic operation modes designed for
first time users, deep or comprehensive operation modes for more user control,
and advanced modes for expert user configuration and control.
Version 6 enhancements include a new Security Optimizer Wizard that finds
dangerous Windows security flaws and automatically repairs them. The Startup
Optimizer decreases boot-time finds and eliminates dangerous and unnecessary
programs, increasing productivity and security. The new Advanced Startup
Manager reviews the more than 20 locations where programs hide to
automatically startup with Windows. Integrated with Startup Guard(TM)
technology, it permanently blocks dangerous and unnecessary programs from
starting again. The improved Spython(TM) integrates new proactive "always on"
protection from dangerous spyware, malware, adware, and unauthorized
surveillance software.
The already high-speed disk defragmentation tool defragments hard drives
up to 200 percent faster than previous System Mechanic versions and up to 10
times faster than the Windows defragmenter. Enhanced Registry optimization
technology finds and fixes even more Registry problems that can cripple
systems. The new Drive Medic(TM) finds and fixes hard drive problems before
they can cause data loss or system failure. Using proprietary techniques, the
new PC Accelerator Wizard increases system responsiveness, decreases boot
times, and speed Internet and download rates by up to 300 percent.

System Mechanic Version 6 Professional
The System Mechanic 6 Professional version is a totally integrated suite
of powerful system tools with System Mechanic 6 features, plus additional
products including anti-virus and firewall software.
The world-class antivirus technology from Kaspersky Labs provides complete
protection from viruses, Trojans, worms, and other disastrous enemies with
daily updates.
The latest generation ultra-secure Firewall software stops hackers from
destroying, stealing or corrupting data or using the PC for a denial of
service attack.
The award-winning Search and Recover Version 3 finds and recovers lost or
deleted files, photos, movies, music, and e-mail from virtually any digital
media including MP3 players, digital cameras, USB flash drives, compact flash
cards, and other portable media. It also provides advanced disk imaging for
emergency file recovery.
System Shield Pro(R) protects systems from unauthorized attempts at
recovering private and confidential data that could be used for identity theft
or corporate espionage. System Shield uses US Department of Defense approved
methods (DoD 5220.22) to permanently dispose of all deleted files beyond all
possible recovery techniques.
DriveScrubber Pro(R) wipes all data from any hard drive or disk for any
file format or operating system, cleans up after virus attacks or system
corruption, and destroys all data. Its purpose is to ensure the safety,
privacy, and security of private, personal, confidential, or proprietary
information before donating or selling a PC.
Both System Mechanic 6 and System Mechanic 6 Professional support Windows
XP, Windows 2003 Server, Windows 2000, and Window 98. System Mechanic 6
requires 20 MB free hard disk space. The price for a single-user license is
$49.95. System Mechanic 6 Professional requires 50 MB free hard disk space.
