Mediaport Selects IBM Kiosk Services to Deliver Music, Ringtones, Software and Games19 March 2006
IBM has signed an agreement withMediaport Entertainment, Inc. to provide IT services, maintenance, andfinancing for an international retail kiosk rollout that delivers digitalcontent to consumers. Mediaport is currently deploying its MediaATM™ kiosks at Sanity Musicand Virgin Music Entertainment retail stores in Australia and New Zealand,totaling 1,000 kiosks over the next two years. Consumers can burn customized CDs or rapidly download any digital productto a USB, Bluetooth enabled, or MP3 device. Mediaport's robust contentcatalog features thousands of albums from Warner Music Group, EMI Music,Sony BMG Music Entertainment, Universal Music International, among others;games; videos; DVDs; e-books; ringtones; and software. Brazin Ltd., the parent company for Sanity Music and Virgin MusicEntertainment, will lease the kiosks through IBM Global Financing; IBMInformation Technology Services will also provide ongoing warrantymaintenance for these store installations.
