MPC Computers Introduces The Transport T2300 Notebook Computer

MPC Computers, a Gores Technology Group company, today announced the TransPort® T2300 notebook computer, which offers outstanding performance in a sleek, lightweight design. This notebook incorporates the latest in technology with Intel® Centrino™ Mobile technology, the new Intel 915PM chipset, Gigabit Ethernet, and enhanced wireless connectivity.

The TransPort T2300 provides greater overall system performance with the Intel 915PM chipset. This new chipset supports up to 2GB of high-speed 533MHz DDR2 memory, faster 533FSB Intel Processors and enhanced graphic capabilities with PCI-Express video graphics at 64MB or 128MB. The dedicated memory for graphics ensures peak performance while using graphic intensive programs.

The TransPort T2300 features the latest in wireless connectivity with Intel PRO Wireless 2915 a/b/g capabilities, allowing users to connect at a higher speed while utilizing the latest standards in wireless technology. This notebook also features a wireless on/off switch, which allows users to easily disable wireless when necessary and still continue working. "The TransPort T2300 will appeal to users who seek high-end performance in a compact notebook form factor," said Paul Petersen, MPC's vice-president of product marketing and development.

The T2300 is the 4th generation in a series of notebooks utilizing the same port replicator, which helps reduce the costs to customers as they manage their replacement cycle."The thin and light TransPort T2300 is the follow-on product to the TransPort T2200. The notebook offers features such as a choice of 14.1" or 15.0" displays, legacy ports for parallel and serial connections, 4 USB 2.0 ports, a bridge battery and a 3-in-1 media reader, allowing for quick and easy transfer of various media such as memory stick pro, memory stick duo and secure digital.

The T2300 also includes an integrated biometric fingerprint scanner for added security. When enabled, this feature requires the user to properly scan his or her fingerprint before being granted access to the system. The fingerprint recognition feature can also be applied to specific files or applications on the PC, which automatically encrypts select data files or folders to ensure that only authorized users will be able to access their own data. Additionally, fingerprint recognition also provides the benefit of replacing all the user's passwords in one simple scan of the finger.

Optional Services
Advanced Portable Exchange
Customers can restore their notebook functionality quickly with MPC's innovative Advanced Portable Exchange service. If MPC Technical Support determines a customer's notebook needs to be replaced, MPC will ship the replacement notebook to the customer on the next business day, anywhere in the continental U.S. Furthermore, the replacement notebook will have the same serial number as the original notebook, allowing customers to maintain consistency within their asset management records.
SystemSat
SystemSat provides the highest level of protection for MPC notebooks. This service provides for system repairs and replacements due to any covered accidental damage such as drops, liquid spills, cracked screens, or fire.
