Looking to capitalize on the monochrome laser printer market’s recent growth, Brother, HP, and Oki Data led the charge in new monochrome printer introductions in 2004. A new report from Lyra Research, "The Hard Copy Observer Spotlight: 2004 Desktop Monochrome Laser Printer Market," estimates that worldwide desktop monochrome laser printer shipments grew a dramatic 15 percent to 14.1 million units in 2004, led by 22 percent growth in the personal segment.
