QUALCOMM Samples 65nm Chipset for CDMA2000 1xEV-DO Rev. A7 April 2006
QUALCOMM Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM), a leading developer and innovator of Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) and other advanced wireless technologies, today announced a significant milestone in the Company's migration to 65 nanometer (nm) technology with the early sampling of the Mobile Station Modem(TM) (MSM(TM)) MSM6800(TM) chipset for CDMA2000(R) 1xEV-DO Revision A networks, two full months ahead of schedule. The 65nm MSM6800 solution from QUALCOMM's Enhanced Platform was manufactured using Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Ltd.'s (TSMC) 65nm low-power process technology.

The 65nm MSM6800 chipset features the process technology enabling devices that are more highly integrated, feature-rich, power-efficient and smaller in size with advanced functionality. The MSM6280(TM), MSM7200(TM), MSM7500(TM) and MSM7600(TM) chipsets also will be offered in 65nm versions. The complete MSM6800 solution includes the RFR6500(TM) and RFT6150(TM), or RFR6525(TM) and RFT6150(TM) devices with the PM6650(TM) power management solution.
