Raritan Computer Expands Worldwide Organization

12 January 2005

Raritan attributes its growth to strong customer demand for solutions for
cost-effectively managing distributed IT equipment inside and outside the data
center. According to market research firms, the global market for KVM-based
solutions is growing at a rate of 15 to 20 percent a year and up to 50 percent
in developing markets, such as China and India.
"We expect this growth trend to gain even more momentum as customers look
for cost-effective ways to manage their current IT equipment and new
equipment, such as server blades, that form their IT infrastructure," said
Ching-I Hsu, CEO of Raritan Computer. "Our focus is to satisfy and help our
growing customer base and support our reseller partners in these global
markets."
In addition to India, Raritan has offices in Australia, Canada, China,
France, Germany, Japan, Korea, the Netherlands, Taiwan, the United Kingdom and
the United States. When combined with Raritan's extensive distribution
channel -- consisting of more than 330 authorized resellers, wholesale
distributors, direct/catalog retailers, and OEMs -- Raritan's products are
sold in 76 countries.
As a result of the acquisition of Peppercon AG last year -- Raritan's
third acquisition in the past two years -- the company has added three more
offices in Germany and elsewhere. Peppercon is Raritan's OEM division focused
on KVM-over-IP PCI cards and embedded remote management systems.
"Everything we do at Raritan, we do with an international focus," added
Hsu. "Our products are designed for the global market. Our Product
Management team, for example, specifies localization for our products for each
country right at the early concept stages. So when we introduce new products,
we are able to launch simultaneously in each of our markets around the world."
The company has added new staff, as well as launched localized Web sites,
to support local customers and resellers. Among the new Web sites are
Raritan.fr in France, Raritan.de in Germany, Raritan.co.jp in Japan,
Raritan.com.cn in China, Raritan.co.kr in Korea, and Raritan.com.tw in Taiwan.
The new sites feature global content, as well as information for local
audiences. The local-language Web sites were modeled after Raritan's recently
redesigned corporate Web site at Raritan.com
A key element of the redesign was to create a globally consistent on-line
identity and user experience. The redesign utilized a rigorous user-centric
approach that relied on direct input from key user communities, such as
Raritan resellers, customers and key business stakeholders, throughout the
world. The sites' visual design was inspired by Raritan's innovative product
design language and includes features, such as live, on-line product demos and
customer case studies.

Raritan's products help companies of all sizes reduce operational costs
and maximize service availability by enabling them to remotely manage and
troubleshoot a wide range of IT equipment using an intuitive, Web-based
interface. Raritan's award-winning offerings include the Dominion(R) line of
digital KVM switches and serial console servers; Paragon(R) II analog KVM
switches; and CommandCenter(TM), a first-of-its-kind centralized management
appliance that provides customized, end-to-end views and controls of all types
of IT equipment throughout an enterprise. Companies can deploy any
combination of Raritan's compatible, plug-and-play digital and analog
solutions in order to meet their specific infrastructure and scalability
needs.
