SSH Announces Industry's First Secure Shell Solution With Native MVS Support for IBM Mainframes25 April 2006

With its native MVS integration and checkpoint-restart mechanism, the new SSH Tectia Server for IBM z/OS 5.2 speeds up file transfer operations, facilitates enhanced reliability and provides ease of use for interactive file exchange.

The new SSH Tectia Server for IBM z/OS 5.2 incorporates direct streaming for all MVS operations, which improves file transfer performance by eliminating any additional memory and disk operations required previously for transferring files in MVS. The new streaming feature is accompanied by checkpoint-restart functionality for improved file transfer reliability. The new MVS data set listing with read-and-write capability allows interactive listing of datasets as files and folders with command-line SFTP tools and Windows client GUI, providing the industry's first SFTP-based easy drag-and-drop file transfers between Windows workstations and mainframes without any changes to the legacy applications.
