TELUS delivers Wireless High Speed service to Ontario cottage country9 June 2006
TELUS today announced the expansion of its Wireless High Speed service to Ontario cottage country, offering consumer and business clients mobile access to the Internet, e-mail and other multimedia applications at broadband speeds similar to desktop internet access at home.

With typical download speeds of 400 to 700 kilobits per second, and maximum speeds of more than 2 megabits per second, TELUS Wireless High Speed service offers clients the speed they need for powerful mobile computing. Wireless High Speed is based on the CDMA 1xEVDO standard, the newest Third Generation (3G) wireless data technology available.
Since November, TELUS has launched Wireless High Speed in Vancouver, Whistler, Edmonton, Calgary, Fort McMurray, Toronto and Ontario's Golden Horseshoe region, Ottawa, Montreal, Mont-Tremblant, St. Jovite and Quebec City. The company expects to continue to expand Wireless High Speed to other regions throughout 2006.
TELUS Connection Manager
TELUS Connection Manager Software provides mobile computing clients using portable computers and a TELUS PC card with one-click access to the best available wireless network - including TELUS' Wireless High Speed, 1X and Hotspot systems. TELUS Connection Manager Software also offers built-in acceleration software that can increase data access speeds by two to three times on Wireless High Speed or 1X data networks through data compression. LG 8100: The LG 8100, exclusive to TELUS features TELUS Mobile Music full-track download service, TELUS Mobile TV access, a built-in MP3 player with external controls, stereo speakers for superior sound quality, video recorder functionality, a 1.3 megapixel camera, Bluetooth wireless technology for use with hands-free headsets, car kits and modems and an optional 1GB mini SD memory card for storing a wide range of music, video, photo and other files. The LG 8100 is available in a choice of black and white exteriors for as low as $99.99 on a three-year contract or $349.99 without a contract.
Motorola RAZR V3c: The Motorola RAZR V3c from TELUS is the only RAZR in Canada operating on the EVDO network, making surfing the Internet and downloading large files, including images, ringtones, games and software applications fast and convenient. Clients on the go can also use the Motorola RAZR V3c as a wireless modem, connecting their laptops to the Internet with an optional modem kit to download files at broadband speeds. RIM BlackBerry 7250: The BlackBerry 7250 is now available on the Wireless High Speed network.
