Thomson Partnership Set to Accelerate Chinese Innovation16 December 2005
The creation of the Ministry of Information Industry (MII) -- Thomson Joint Lab for Intellectual Property Development means one of the world's fastest growing economies, China, is now empowered with the most innovative and comprehensive knowledge tools from Thomson. At a meeting held in Beijing on December 1, 2005, the agreement was hailed as a significant step forward in China's pursuit to discover new and better ways to develop technology. The Joint Lab will be located in the MII-China Silicon Intellectual Property Public Service Platform (CSIP) building, and will equip Chinese researchers with the most complete and accurate resources for scientific innovation, including the most advanced and powerful scientific and knowledge tools for patent and literature search and analysis. The mission of the lab is: * To promote the rapid development of intellectual property within the IT industry * To educate researchers throughout China about efficient and effective ways to conduct research using world class intellectual property research and analysis tools * To work together to accelerate the awareness and capabilities of (self made innovation) Chinese companies.
