1 March 2006 Toshiba launches high-definition Qosmiofour-in-one entertainment unit Auckland, 1 March 2006: TheNew Zealand office of Toshiba (Australia) Pty. LimitedInformation Systems Division (ISD) today launched the newversion of its Qosmio four-in-one entertainment unit today,upgrading the combined television, stereo audio player, DVDand notebook PC with an integrated high-definition (HD)digital TV tuner. The new Qosmio G30 replaces theprevious high-end G20 model. By integrating a high qualityDigital Video Broadcasting TV tuner (DVB-T), Qosmio ownerscan receive standard or high definition digital televisionbroadcasts, which offer better reception, a widescreen 16:9picture-quality, high-quality audio, a greater number andchoice of channels, and program guide channels. The QosmioG30 also provides a standard analogue tuner integrated forusers not in areas with digital coverage. "The commercialrelease of a high-definition digital tuner within the Qosmioproves that this technology is becoming the standard," saidMark Whittard General Manager, Australia and New Zealand,Toshiba ISD. "For those people who want the most intenseentertainment experience -- the crispest and brightestpicture, the clearest digital audio, the largest capacitystorage to hold HD video and TV, music, digital photos, andthe latest games -- all in the one mobile device, the Qosmiois the ultimate choice. Theatre-quality video and audio Toshiba hasupgraded the audio and video quality of its QosmioAV-notebooks by introducing Dolby home theatre technologyand newly-released nVidia GeForce 7600 series GPU to workwith the high quality Qosmio video engine. Latestavailable performance and power To provide the best inspeed and performance, the Qosmio G30 incorporates Intel snew dual-core processor, Intel Core Duo T2400 with 2.0 GHzof dual-core power, plus dual 100GB SATA (total 200 GB)hard disk drives capable of running a RAID to protectvaluable memories and data.
