WD Wins Three Tom's Hardware Guide 2005 Readers' Choice Awards31 March 2006
Western Digital Corp. (NYSE: WDC) again has been named "Best Storage Product Manufacturer" in the hard drive industry by the readers of Tom's Hardware Guide (http://www.tomshardware.com), a leading Web reviewer of PC and consumer electronics hardware components. This is the fourth consecutive year that readers of the Web site recognized WD with this distinction. In addition, WD Caviar(R) SE16 400 GB was cited as "Best Hard Drive Product," while WD Extreme(TM) Lighted Combo drives were named "Best External Storage Product" by more than 80 percent of voters.
In an online survey of its U.S. and Canadian readers for its annual Tom's Hardware Guide 2005 Readers' Choice Awards, WD received the most votes for "Best Storage Product Manufacturer" and the WD Caviar SE16 400 GB Serial ATA (SATA) drive received the highest percentage of votes for "Best Hard Drive Product" for 2005. In 2004, WD swept the storage category when it was named "Best Storage Product Manufacturer" and WD Raptor(R) was named "Best Innovation in Storage" for the second straight year.
