Wibiki Macintosh Software Debut Supports Intel Mac15 January 2006
NEW YORK, Jan. 13 -- Wibiki today announced release of Wibiki For Mac free Wi-Fi software, including support for new Intel-powered Macintoshes. Wibiki gives Mac users "one click connect" to the best free Wi-Fi available. "Wibiki is the only company focused on offering all users options for free Wi-Fi access," explained Shant Hovnanian, CEO of Wibiki. The company is developing a client-based advertising network to enable consumers to use their purchasing power to offset service charges. A beta version of Wibiki For Mac is now available for free download at http://www.wibiki.com. "Mac plays a bigger role in Wi-Fi access than people think," explained Hovnanian. Macintosh computers were used by 30 per cent of free Wi-Fi users connecting to public access in New York City, according to a recent report by the Public Internet Project (publicinternetproject.org). "Wibiki intends to be the connection manager of choice for new Macs, old Macs and PCs," said Hovnanian, who added, "and Wi-Fi phones and portable gaming handsets too." Wibiki is a subsidiary of Speedus Corp. (Nasdaq: SPDE).
