Zimbra Announces Universal Application Support for New Intel-based Macs

Zimbra, a leader in open source, next-generation collaboration and messaging software, today announced a Universal version of its Zimbra Collaboration Suite (ZCS) to support both PowerPC and Intel-based Macs.

"The launch of ZCS for Mac OS X in January 2006 prompted a tremendously positive response from Zimbra community members, and based on their overwhelming feedback, we're pleased to announce Universal support for Apple's PowerPC and Intel-based Macs," said Satish Dharmaraj, Zimbra CEO. "Zimbra users have been quick to test ZCS out on the new Intel-based Macs and there is a lot of excitement about the significantly increased performance."

ZCS for Mac OS X is an open-source, enterprise-grade email and collaboration server and application that includes support for iCal, Apple Mail clients and Apple Xsan storage. In testing ZCS for Mac OS X, Zimbra has achieved speeds up to five times faster on the Intel-based Mac clients.

Pricing and Availability

The ZCS 3.0 Open Source Edition for Mac OS X Tiger is free, and the commercially-supported Network Edition for Mac OS X Tiger is available for $28/mailbox/year, which includes full product support as well as software subscriptions to new releases, updates and patches.
